Centaur-class Light Fleet Carrier
HMS Albion (R07) was a light fleet carrier of the Centaur class, built by Swan Hunter. She was launched on the 6 May 1947 and commissioned on the 26 May 1954. She was 736 feet long, with a standard displacement of over 20,000 tons and a top speed of 29 knots. Albion is pictured in November 1956, during the Suez Crisis, when she carried Seahawk and Sea Venom aircraft as part of her flight. During 1961 and 1962, she was converted to a commando and helicopter carrier, being scrapped in 1972.
